The Library and Information Consortium of the Kyrgyz Republic conducts the 12th International Conference "Issyk-Kul 2011. Libraries and Democratization of Society."

 

The Conference will be held at the "Issyk Kul - Aurora" resort at the Issyk Kul Lake on October 1-5, 2011.

 

The main topic of the 12th Conference "Issyk-Kul 2011: Libraries and Democratization of Society" is "The role of libraries in preserving the historical heritage for the development of knowledge society."

 

Planned organization of sections, round table discussions and presentations on the following topics: 

  • The role of libraries in the formation of tolerance in multiethnic communities;
  • Creating and providing access to information in an electronic environment;
  • Library resources for education and sustainable development of society;
  • Social partnership with the local community to improve the quality of life;
  • Contemporary reading programs for children;
  • The role of libraries in the identification, preservation and development of traditional knowledge and national culture, etc.

Terms of participation

 

You are kindly requested to complete the registration form and send it by fax/e-mail or register online through our website http://conference.bik.org.kg/en/registration

 

The fee for the whole period of the Conference includes:

  • round-trip from Bishkek to the Conference's site;
  • participation in all Conference activities;
  • residence in the  "Issyk Kul - Aurora" sanatorium during the Conference;
  • three meals a day;
  • coffee breaks;
  • Using pool and other treatment procedures of sanatorium "Issyk Kul - Aurora"
  • conference materials.

 

Registration fee for the whole period (i.e. from October 1 till October 5, 2011) of the "Issyk-Kul 2011" Conference depends on the room category. And the following fee is fixed:
